Decathlon Group is a leading French retailer of sporting goods, founded in 1976 by Michel Leclercq, inspired by the decathlon event. The first store was launched in Englos, a small town in northern France. Over the past 45 years, Decathlon has expanded to 78 countries, with over 1,700 stores and 15 specialized design centres worldwide. In August 2017, Decathlon Hong Kong opened its first flagship store in Mong Kok, and it currently operates a total of 10 stores in the region.
