Decathlon Group is a prominent French retailer of sporting goods, established in 1976 by Michel Leclercq, who was inspired by the decathlon event. The inaugural store opened in Englos, a small town in northern France. Over the past 45 years, Decathlon has expanded its presence to 78 countries, boasting more than 1,700 stores and 15 specialized design centres worldwide. In August 2017, Decathlon Hong Kong opened its first flagship store in Mong Kok, and it currently operates a total of 10 stores in the region.
