Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital
Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, commonly referred to as Eastern Hospital or Youde Hospital, is a prominent acute general hospital situated in Chai Wan. Established in October 1993, it is named in honor of Lady Pamela Youde, the wife of Sir Edward Youde, the former Governor of Hong Kong. The hospital's predecessor was the century-old Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital. The hospital boasts 1,829 beds, 24-hour emergency and general services, and a helicopter landing pad, primarily serving the residents of the Eastern District of Hong Kong Island, Wan Chai, and the Islands District. It also features an Emergency Radiation Treatment Centre, one of only two major facilities in Hong Kong specifically designed to treat individuals affected by radiation exposure from accidents. Furthermore, the hospital includes a clinical simulation training centre, offering medical students enhanced opportunities for practical training.
The renovation of the intercom and public address systems at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital was completed in 2019. The hospital installed a TOA public address system and a TOA intercom system that integrates with alarm, surveillance, and door entry/exit authorization features.
