The Hong Kong Infection Control Centre (HKICC), officially opened in 2021, is the first facility of its kind in Hong Kong constructed using Modular Integrated Construction (MiC) and Modular Integrated Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MiMEP) with the assistance of full-scale Building Information Modeling (BIM). It features 136 Negative Pressure Wards and 816 beds, comprising six ward buildings, one medical building, one central electromechanical equipment building, and various supporting facilities. The project was completed in approximately four months, significantly faster than a hospital built using traditional construction methods, and is specifically designed for patients with mild to moderate COVID-19 symptoms. Since its opening, the centre has treated over 20,700 patients, resulting in a greatly compressed construction timeline and minimized adverse environmental impacts.

Hong Kong Infection Control Centre has installed a TOA public address system that complies with the EN 54-16 European regulation. This system not only meets essential broadcasting requirements but also ensures clear communication during emergencies, allowing personnel within the centre to evacuate safely.
