Remote Microphone

RM-500

The RM-500 is a desktop type remote microphone for general broadcasts. Equipped with an LCD screen, it can display up to 80 function names registered in advance, allowing these functions to be executed with the key operation. The AUX key allows only the external audio signals to be controlled regardless of whether the microphone broadcasts are present or not. The speech intelligibility function makes it easier to hear the microphone announcements even in noisy environments, and also allows the microphone to pick up the audio signals at an appropriate level even if speaking too close to or too far from it. The RM-500 can be mounted on the wall by using an optional wall mounting bracket.

Optional Accessory

The remote microphone shall work in conjunction with the TOA VX-3000 Series Integrated Voice Evacuation System and shall be of the desktop type with the option to easily wall mount, if desired, by using the optional wall mount hardware and simply adjusting the orientation angle of the microphone to suit. The microphone itself shall be a unidirectional electret condenser type. The remote microphone shall benefit from a 3 inches LCD display (255 X 160 dots) with backlight and shall display the list of set functions and broadcast status. The remote microphone shall be able to make live voice announcements and play back pre-recorded messages or tones to targeted zones by selecting a pre-registered function from up to 80 lists. The remote microphone shall have an auxiliary input allowing the broadcast of a remote audio signal (regardless of whether microphone announcements are present or not) from a single push key, and shall have an independent volume control. The remote microphone shall incorporate a speech intelligibility function optimising the clarity of speech, even in noisy environments, whilst maintaining equal audio levels from the orator that may be too close, or, too far from the microphone. The microphone shall also have an independent volume control. The remote microphone shall have control output terminals for the activation of external sources and controlled input terminals allowing the activation of an arbitrary broadcast. The microphone shall have a ring indicator in its head shell that will illuminate green during a broadcast. The TOA VX-3000 Series Integrated Voice Evacuation System software function shall be executed via the F1 and F2 keys on the front panel. The remote microphone shall have an easy to identify larger key for the purpose of a live broadcast. This key shall either have the function facility for Press to Talk (PTT) or can be locked, therefore requiring the key to be pressed before the announcement and at the end. A ‘clear’ key shall terminate a broadcast that is in progress and shall clear all of the selected zones. There shall be two key buttons to scroll through pages of the LCD. The LCD shall clearly display the status of the system such as the corresponding numeric key, the functions title, individual and overall icons displaying status, a chime icon when activated, an auxiliary and F1 and F2 area, broadcast status and page numbers 1 – 8. Power requirements shall be supplied from the TOA VX-3000 Series Integrated Voice Evacuation System via an RJ45 connector, or an optional 24 V DC input power supply. The remote microphone shall be housed in an ABS black resin enclosure weighing 620 g (1.37 lbs) with dimensions of 224 (w) x 47.2 (h) x 136 (d) mm (8.82" x 1.86" x 5.35") (excluding microphone)
