Haneda Airport (Japan, Tokyo)
Haneda Airport, formerly known as Tokyo International Airport, is situated in Ota Ward, Tokyo. Officially opened in 1931, it is one of the busiest airports in Japan. Alongside Narita Airport, Haneda aspires to be the "Hub of Asia", offering both domestic and international flight services. Notably, it is one of the few airports in Japan that operates 24 hours a day. The airport spans approximately 1,522 hectares and includes 3 passenger terminals and 4 runways. In 2019, it was ranked as the fifth-busiest airport in the world based on passenger traffic.
To effectively communicate flight information and emergency messages to passengers of various nationalities and ages in large airport facilities, TOA has implemented a voice evacuation system along with a passenger information broadcasting system. These systems are designed to deliver announcements in four languages and feature an intuitively operated control desk.
